Home Design

The first step in all of our projects is sit down with the homeowner and really listen to them.  Whether you know exactly what you want or have only an inkling of your goals and no idea what direction will get you there, the foundation of all our design work is your hopes and dreams.  From there we establish the existing conditions; creating as-built drawings of any existing buildings, and confirming whether archive drawings or a survey will be required.  We then provide 3 concept drawings, and work with the homeowners to coalesce them and create the final concept that will move forward.  At this point the permit drawings for city hall and construction drawings for the contractor can be drafted.

Interior Design

Once the bones of the project are established, we move to the details. Interior elevation drawings show how important spaces like kitchens and bathrooms will be designed. Then we help you navigate the often overwhelming choices available for tiles, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, and lighting.  Digital mood-boards can help to determine the material palette, and help visualize the final spaces.  Accompanying this is a comprehensive spreadsheet of choices, pricing, and amounts that provide the homeowner with total control over the material budget.  The best part is that Redefine passes any designer discounts offered by retailers directly to our clients, so this process often pays for itself!  

Project Supervision

The design process continues even after construction begins. Changes, challenges, and surprises pop up throughout the construction process.  By seeing our projects through to completion, Redefine is constantly available to guide the project through rough patches and ensure that the design goals emerge unscathed. Redefine is also there as an ally for the homeowner, helping them articulate their vision and advocating for them whenever necessary.  The language and technical aspects of building are new for many homeowners, and having someone with experience on their side can be invaluable for taking the stress out of the construction process.  Even after the project is finished, Redefine is there ensuring that any deficiencies are taken care of.
